Goa University, SMSCMD Canacona, GC Sanquelim also register wins
Panaji: Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira, Bambolim registered a 3-0 win over Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao as the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Football Championship 2026-27 for women began at three venues on Tuesday.
Neha Rajput put Dempo college ahead in the sixth minute before Sima Mandal doubled the lead in the 42nd minute. Rajput completed her brace in the 46th minute at Rosary College Ground.
PG Goa University also posted a 3-0 win over Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim at Chowgule College Ground, with Pushpa Parab scoring a hat trick.
Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts and Commerce, Canacona defeated Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna 3-0. Neha Velip, Anan Viegas and Pranali Gaonkar scored in the seventh, 10th and 19th minutes respectively.
Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim beat V M Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar 2-0 through Angel Lopes’ goals in the 26th and 31st minutes.
Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, Fr Agnel College, Pillar, Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College, Pernem and Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao advanced through walkovers.
