Bangladesh eased past Maldives 4-2 in the SAFF Women’s Championship at PJN Stadium, Fatorda on Thursday.
Anika Siddiqui handed Bangladesh an early lead in the opening minute before Umehla Marma doubled the advantage in the 34th minute. Maldives fought back through Mariyam Noora and Aminath Fazla, who scored in the 43rd and 57th minutes respectively to level the scores.
Bangladesh regained control when Sauravi Prity restored the lead in the 64th minute. Kohati Kisku sealed the victory deep into stoppage time with Bangladesh’s fourth goal in the
90+5th minute.
Earlier at the same venue Bhutan sailed past Sri Lanka 4-0.
