Women’s volleyball in Goa received a major boost as the Goa Women’s Volleyball Revival Day 2026 united former stars and budding players in a celebration of the sport at
Santa Cruz.

Organised by the Goa Masters Women Volleyball Association in collaboration with Santa Barbara Sports Club under the theme “From Legends to Future Stars,” the festival saw over 70 participants from across the state.

Players aged between 14 and 67 featured in six balanced teams, creating a unique blend of youth and experience on the court. Schoolgirls, college athletes, former state and national players, working professionals and veteran volleyball icons participated enthusiastically. Association president Betty D’Silva described the event as a celebration of memories, mentorship and renewed optimism for the future of women’s volleyball
in the state.

A special felicitation ceremony honoured former volleyball stalwarts Bina Wagle, Lumen Botelho, Conception Pereira and Betty D’Silva for their contribution to the game.
