Panaji: Ruling out mistakes in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Goa, Sanjay Goel said the exercise was transparent.
“When we felt that we needed the help of the commission (ECI), we wrote to them and asked for their help. The whole process was done with support and teamwork,” Goel said, responding to media queries.
He said they received a handful of appeals, which were disposed off. “Apart from this, we did not receive any complaints from the political parties,” he alleged, adding that even when representatives of political parties were present, they did not object to any of the issues.
Regarding the issue of 97 voters, Goel said, “The people who were left out, we surveyed wherein the BLOs went from house to house and got their forms filled. The people who were available and willing, they were also filled in March-April. If the rest of the people are willing and available, we will get their forms filled and add their names.”
Goel added that there is a mechanism to appeal and fill forms. “There was no blunder or mistake,” he added.
