Cuncolim record a nine-goal victory, while Fr Agnel win 6-0
Panaji: Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira, Bambolim defeated Don Bosco College, Panjim 3-1 in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Football Championship here on Tuesday.
Nihar Naik put SS Dempo ahead in the 22nd minute before Shane Fernandes doubled the lead in the 50th. Topon Minj added the third two minutes later, while Aryan Salunke pulled one back for Don Bosco in the 60th minute.
Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts and Commerce recorded the day’s biggest win, thrashing GVM’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College of Commerce and Economics, Farmagudi 9-0.
Swavel Furtado scored a hattrick, finding the net in the second, fourth and 41st minutes. Tohib Vatlani, Jodric, Gerito Fernandes, Yueraj B. and Nash Fernandes also scored, with Gerito netting twice.
Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao defeated Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola 2-0, while Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar routed Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi 6-0.
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda edged Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim 3-2, while Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Quepem defeated Narayan Zantye College, Bicholim 2-1.
