Kolkata: Mohun Bagan Super Giant thrashed South United FC 8-0 in a Group C match of the 135th Durand Cup at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangana on Tuesday.
Manvir Singh starred with a hat trick, scoring in the 4th, 22nd and 80th minutes, while Suhail Bhat struck twice in the 89th and 90+1st minutes.
Alberto Martin opened his account in the 10th minute before Rahul Bheke added another in the 19th as Mohun Bagan raced to a commanding lead. South United’s misery was compounded when Noel scored an own goal in the 69th minute.
Mohun Bagan dominated throughout, with Manvir leading the charge before late goals from Suhail completed the comprehensive victory.
