Fr Agnel College, Pilar hand GC Physiotherapy painful defeat

Fr Agnel College of Arts & Commerce, Pilar defeated Goa College of Physiotherapy, Naturopathy and Yogic Science by 96 runs in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Cricket Men’s Championship at the Goa University ground, Taleigao, on Monday.

After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Fr Agnel compiled 201 for 8 in their alotted 20 overs. Anuj Bhikoji top-scored with 48 runs, while Ugam contributed 40 to anchor the innings and push the total past the 200-mark.

For Goa College of Physiotherapy, Shivam Sawant and Rajdeep Gavnekar shared the bowling honours with three wickets each, finishing with figures of 3 for 35 and 3 for 42 respectively.

In reply, the chase never gathered momentum as Goa College of Physiotherapy managed 105 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Prathamesh Dessai made 24, while Shivam Sawant added 20.

Atharv More starred with the ball for Fr Agnel, returning figures of 3 for 15, while Anuj Bhikoji chipped in with two wickets for 28 to complete a dominant all-round performance.
