V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar will host ‘Lex Infinitum 2026’ on January 22 and 23, focusing on Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) through mediation.

The event, which is in its 11th edition will have  Knowledge Sessions, titled ‘Bridging Differences: Modern Tools and Techniques in Mediation’. This hybrid certification programme, conducted by international experts, aims to train participants to manage family, commercial and international disputes through practical negotiation and mediation skills.

On January 22, the programme will be conducted online while January 23 will be offered in hybrid mode, allowing participants to attend either at the Miramar campus or virtually. The six one-hour sessions will provide a strong mix of theory and hands-on learning.

The course will cover important topics such as how to use mediation effectively and build a career in ADR, the role of pre-mediation interviews and conflict coaching and high-level corporate and boardroom mediation. It will also include sessions on interest-based conflict resolution, online dispute resolution and the future of ADR, including the use of artificial intelligence, the metaverse and technology ethics. Participants will also be guided on the Mediation Act, 2023 and how to draft settlement agreements that are legally enforceable.

One of the highlights will be live role-play competitions, where national and international teams will demonstrate how mediation and negotiation are used in real dispute situations.

The programme is open to lawyers, students and professionals from fields such as business, human resources and healthcare. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate in ADR and mediation.

(The last date to register is January 14. Registration can be done at https://forms.gle/yBnBshmxQcf19ZtF6.)
