Crime Branch of the Goa police on Wednesday filed a chargesheet before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Merces against four Bangladeshi nationals and one Uttar Pradesh native in connection with April 2025 Dona Paula dacoity case.
Accused named in the chargesheet are Noor Islam alias Nadim Khan, Md. Saiful Islam, Sohail Khan, Md. Suman Hauladar alias Babu alias Pappu, all 4 Bangladeshis and Mahmood Yakub, a UP native currently residing in Calangute. Yakub had reportedly provided assistance to the accused in the crime, police said.
The Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by Delhi police in April 2026 and subsequently police had obtained their custody. Police sources said that role of one more Bangladeshi national, who was also arrested, is being examined in the case.
Investigation revealed that accused forcefully entered the bungalow armed with deadly weapons, held the complainant’s parents at knife point, tied them and security guard’s legs and hands. Thereafter, they robbed gold ornaments weighing 1 kg and Rs 3 lakh cash.
The investigation has established involvement of the accused through the statements of witnesses, test identification parade proceedings, technical analysis, CCTV footage, disclosure statements of the accused along with part recovery of the gold coins, recovery of the crowbar and other incriminating articles as well as other documentary evidence.
Police said that the evidence further establishes that the accused entered and remained in India without possessing valid travel or immigration documents.
The entire investigation in the case was done by PI Dattaguru Sawant under Supervision of SP Jivba Dalvi who is holding additional charge of DySP crime and SP crime branch Rahul Gupta.
