The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council has reconstituted its Group of Ministers (GoM) on the ‘Analysis of revenue from GST,’ appointing Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant as the convenor of the panel.

The GoM includes Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Chhattisgarh Finance Minister O P Choudhary, Gujarat Finance and Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai, Andhra Pradesh Finance and Planning Minister Payyavula Keshav, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Tamil Nadu Finance and Human Resources Management Minister Thangam Thennarasu, and Telangana Finance and Planning Minister M B Vikramarka.

The decision to reconstitute the GoM with revised terms of reference was taken during the 55th GST Council meeting held in December 2024 in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The panel, now led by Sawant, will analyse state-wise revenue collection trends, including sectoral and regional patterns, and review revenue from inter-state outward supply.

It will also conduct a sector-wise analysis to identify policy interventions or enforcement measures needed for revenue augmentation.

Additionally, the panel will assess the impact of economic and other factors on GST revenue and make recommendations
accordingly.
