The Goa government has decided to enhance financial support under the Goa Gram Samridhi Yojana (GGSY), with additional funds to be provided over and above the existing Rs 20 crore allocation in the upcoming financial year to facilitate implementation of public infrastructure and community
development works.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday chaired a review meeting of 131 project proposals submitted under the GGSY of the Department of
Rural Development.

Following a detailed review, the Chief Minister said key decisions were taken to ensure that development benefits reach all parts of the
state. He said enhanced financial support would be extended under the scheme, with additional funds to supplement the present allocation of Rs 20 crore in the next
financial year.

Sawant said priority would be given to works recommended by MLAs from all 40 assembly constituencies, and that at least one project would be implemented in every constituency under
the scheme.

He added that through the Goa Gram Samridhi Yojana, the government aims to build stronger and better-connected communities across the state by supporting essential infrastructure and local development initiatives.
