Two incidents of dog bites were reported at South Goa beaches over the weekend. In one incident, a Drishti Marine lifesaver sustained dog bites at Benaulim beach, while in another incident a 52-year-old was attacked by stray dogs at Majorda beach.

At Benaulim beach, a lifesaver was attacked by four dogs while on duty. The dogs attacked him from behind and one bit his right leg. He was sent to
hospital for treatment. Two months ago, another lifesaver was also attacked by stray dogs at the same beach.

At Majorda beach, a 52-year-old man was attacked by a stray dog while on a walk. He sustained bite injuries on his back. A supervisor rushed to his assistance.

The victim was taken to the lifesaver tower and administered first aid.

Two male tourists from Maharashtra, aged 27 years and 54 years, were rescued after they got trapped in a flash rip current while enjoying the waters off Morjim beach.

At Palolem beach, a 78-year-old German tourist developed breathing issues while sitting near the shore. The discomfort was noticed by the lifesavers, who rushed to his aid, placed him in the recovery position and administered oxygen.

They later contacted the ambulance service and handed him over for further care.
