The Directorate of Settlement and Land Records has issued a public notice asking landowners and stakeholders in the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) and surrounding peri-urban areas to attend the NAKSHA property inquiry that is presently under way.
The verification that commenced on Monday will conclude on July 27.
Property owners have been asked to appear before the Inspector of Survey and Land Records, Panaji, with relevant ownership documents for verification and preparation of Urban Property Cards (UrPro).
The NAKSHA pilot project in Goa aims to modernise urban land records using drone and geospatial technologies. Under the central government initiative, the Directorate of Settlement and Land Records has commenced formal land inquiry proceedings in Panaji, villages in Tiswadi, and the municipal areas of Margao and Cuncolim.
According to the department’s January 1 notification, ground verification has already been completed. The present phase involves scrutiny of land records, verification of ownership rights and updating
the database.
The department has requested all landowners and stakeholders to attend the scheduled verification sessions at their respective local offices and bring original ownership documents. It said that if any land is the subject of an appeal, legal challenge or civil suit, further action will be taken in accordance with the final orders of the court or the competent authority.
For the Panaji municipal area and villages in Tiswadi taluka, verification started on Monday and can be done until July 27, at the Office of the Inspector of Survey and Land Records, City Survey Office, Panaji. For the municipal areas of Margao and Cuncolim, verification will be held from July 16 to August 14, at the Office of the Inspector of Survey and Land Records, City Survey Office, Fatorda.
