Panaji: The Mission Political Reservation of the Scheduled Tribe community on Monday sought clarity from the government over the delay in implementing reservation for the ST community in the Goa Legislative Assembly under Article 332.

Members of the ST community staged a protest outside the Department of Tribal Welfare at the Shram Shakti Bhavan in the city and demanded immediate clarity on the delay in implementing political reservation.

Leaders and members of Mission Political Reservation announced that they would continue a dharna protest outside the department until the government issued the final notification related to political reservation for Scheduled Tribes.

The leaders also announced their future course of action during a meeting held outside the department.

They said that although nine months had passed since the political reservation legislation received approval, the government is yet to initiate the next stage of the process.

The leaders further said that despite the central legislation being passed and notified in August 2025, the final operational notification from the government was still awaited to bring the law into effect.
