Crime Branch police have arrested Saurabh Sahni (48), a native of Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly soliciting a foreign woman for prostitution and uploading a video of the incident on social media to gain subscribers.

Police said the video was recorded in September 2024 near the Tito’s Lane in Baga and uploaded in April 2026. The victim has been traced and her statement recorded, while efforts are on to identify and apprehend other persons seen in the video.

Police took suo motu cognisance of the viral clip, in which a group of men were allegedly seen making unwelcome physical advances and explicit sexual overtures towards the woman, and demanding sexual favours. An FIR was registered for sexual harassment and insulting the modesty of a woman.

Crime Branch SP Rahul Gupta said the Goa Police’s social media monitoring cell traced the video to a YouTube channel ‘Realduniya007’ and a Facebook account in Sahni’s name. The Pro-active Risk Identification and Surveillance Mechanism unit carried out technical analysis to identify the accused.

A Crime Branch team apprehended Sahni in Lucknow and brought him to Goa. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to recording the video on September 19, 2024 at around 1.19 am and uploading it on April 12, 2026 to increase channel subscribers, and later sharing it on his Facebook account after it received few views, police said.

Sahni also admitted that he had not blurred or concealed the victim’s face before uploading the video on social media, Gupta said.

“Crime Branch has traced the woman seen in the video, who is a foreign national, and recorded her statement,” he added.

Gupta said the investigation and operation were assisted by SP Jivba Dalvi, PI Tushar Lotlikar and PSI Amin Naik.
