His explosive 62 off 31 balls powers their five-wicket win over Panjim Gymkhana
Panaji: Abhinav Tejrana produced a fine all-round performance to power Dempo Cricket Club to a five-wicket win over Panjim Gymkhana in the Bandodkar League T20 Cricket Tournament on Thursday.
Batting first, Panjim Gymkhana posted 142 for 8 in 20 overs, with Vikas Dessai anchoring the innings with 47 runs. Suyash Prabhudesai added 33, but Dempo bowlers kept the scoring in check during the latter stages.
In reply, Dempo chased down the target in 14.4 overs thanks to a blistering knock from Abhinav, who smashed 62 off just 31 balls, including five boundaries and four
sixes. He also shared a decisive 93-run third-wicket partnership with Aman Dhooper, who contributed 31.
Shadab Khan and Suyash Prabhudesai picked up a wicket each for Panjim Gymkhana, but Dempo remained in control throughout the chase.
The result confirmed Panjim Gymkhana’s exit from the tournament after consecutive defeats, while Dempo progressed to the knockout stage.
