 Canacona Sports and Cultural Club defeated Sao Jose De Areal Sports Club 4-3 in a tiebreaker during the opening match of the 2nd Vaidya Family Cup 2026 at the Government School Playground, Cuncolim on Monday.

Both teams were locked at 0-0 at the end of regular play, leading to a penalty shootout. Canacona scorers were Yamnursab Pinjor, Sneider Lobo, Velvino Fernandes, and Ronaldo Oliveira, while Ashwin Costa, David Colaco, and Aaron Mascarenhas scored for Sao Jose De Areal.

Ashwin Costa was named Man of the Match. The award was presented by Shailesh Vaidya.
