Vasco: Dempo SC looked set for full points after a dominant first-half display but had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Salgaocar FC in the AIFF Sub-Junior League at the Tilak Maidan, Vasco on Tuesday.

Vignesh Gaonker led the charge for Dempo, netting twice in the 17th and 33rd minutes to hand his side a firm grip on the contest at the interval. Dempo remained the more threatening side for large periods, but Salgaocar FC struck back late, with Casroy Fernandes scoring in the 70th minute before Snyden Gomes equalised in the 86th minute. Dempos’s Vignesh was cautioned in the 56th minute.

In another match elsewhere, South Goa United CSC produced a dominant display to outclass Churchill Brothers FC 6-0 in their league encounter at Don Bosco School ground, Fatorda.

Stanislaus Costa set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 19th minute before Savion Fernandes struck on the stroke of half-time to double the lead to make it 2-0. Savlon Fernandes added his second in the 58th minute as South Goa United tightened their grip on the contest.

Snyder Simoes then netted a quickfire brace in the 62nd and 68th minute mark to put the result beyond doubt, while Aaron Vaz capped the rout with a goal in the 71st minute.

Churchill Brothers struggled to make an impact and had Ajaan Salmani shown a yellow card in the 67th minute.
