Borim: Devesh Naik emerged champion of the Late Mahadev Prabhudesai and Late Pramila Prabhudesai Memorial All Goa Open Rapid Chess Tourney organised by Pratibha Friends Circle’s Pratibha Sports Club in collaboration with the Ponda Taluka Chess Association under the aegis of the Goa Chess Association at tBorim.
Atharv Katkar finished runner-up, while Satyam Phal secured third place. Nathan Cardozo, Ayush Naik, Rejmon Fernandes, Rishit Gawas, Sarthak Naik, Shaurya Salgaonkar, Sidhiraj Gaunkar, Kavish Gharse,
Avnish Borker, Sathvik Kerkar, Shashwat Upadhye, Maanas Phal, Mayank Kurtikar, Nishesh Gaude, Aryan Desai, Aarush Nachinolkar and Adarsh Patekar placed fourth to 20th respectively.
Category prize winners included Padmanabh Naik and Nagesh Nayak (U-15), Dhruv Desai and Aarna Sawant (U-13), Shubhan Dhume and Nityam Gaude (U-11), Joash Cardozo and Shrihan Chougale (U-9), Ojas Kamat and Yashvin Gaude (U-7), Vansh Govekar (best unrated) and Dattaprasad Desai (best veteran above 60).
Narendra Sawaikar, graced the prize distribution function in the presence of other dignitaries.
