Purva’s 36, Tanaya’s 22* seal them a 47-run win over GCA Yellow

Sanguem: Purva Bhaidkar produced a captain-worthy performance as GCA Green defeated GCA Yellow by 47 runs to lift the Queen Cup Women’s T20 title at the GCA Ground in Sanguem.

After being put in to bat, GCA Green recovered strongly to post 151 for 4 in 20 overs. Purva set the platform with a quickfire 36 off 22 balls, hitting five

fours and a six. Palak Arondekar added a steady 34 off 32 deliveries, while Krupa Patel and Divya Naik contributed 22 each. Tanaya Naik remained unbeaten on 22 to provide late momentum.

Aradhana Saroj impressed for GCA Yellow with figures of 2 for 23, while Vidika Sawant and Savali Kolambkar picked up a wicket apiece.

In reply, GCA Yellow never settled into the chase as wickets fell at regular intervals. Preeti Gaonkar top-scored with 28 off 24 balls and Tejashwini Duragad made 24, but the rest of the batting line-up struggled against disciplined bowling as the side finished on 104 all out.

Tanaya Naik turned the game decisively with a superb spell of 4 for 19, while Purva complemented her batting effort by claiming 3 for 6. Harshada Kadam, Pooja Kalel and Krupa Patel also struck with the ball.
