Cavelossim

Hosts Cavelossim powered their way into the quarterfinals of the Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup with a 3-0 win over Goa Velha at the Fr Druston and Wellington ground on Thursday.

The match, organized by the Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, saw the hosts outclass a Goa Velha side that took to the field with just seven players.

Cavelossim wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Maven Gracias and Ronan Ferrao linking up well in attack. The breakthrough came in the fifth minute when Alex Rodrigues delivered a pinpoint cross, which was expertly headed in by Sanford Fernandes to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Shanon Furtado doubled the advantage in the 20th minute, stunning Goa Velha goalkeeper Rajat Gauns with a long-range strike. Furtado completed his brace shortly after, tapping in a goalmouth cross from Kayne to seal a 3-0 win.
