Rinku Singh’s unbeaten knock helps them beat RR by four wickets

Kolkata: Rinku Singh struck an unbeaten 53 to guide Kolkata Knight Riders to a four-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals, ending their winless streak in IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Chasing 156, KKR slumped to 85/6 before Rinku and Anukul Roy stitched a decisive 76-run stand for the seventh wicket to seal victory with two balls to spare. Roy contributed an unbeaten 29 in a calm supporting role.

Earlier, KKR’s spin duo Varun Chakravarthy (3/14) and Sunil Narine (2/26) choked RR after a strong start, restricting them to 155/9. Kartik Tyagi’s late strikes further dented the Royals’ total.

RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added 63 in the powerplay, but a middle-order collapse saw them lose momentum. Jaiswal (39) and Sooryavanshi (46) were the main contributors.

KKR’s chase began poorly, losing two wickets inside two overs, and further setbacks reduced them to 70/5. However, a dropped catch of Rinku proved costly as he anchored the recovery.

The win lifted KKR to ninth place, while RR suffered their second successive defeat.
