Navelim: Satish Kudchadkar, Manjiri Moktali, Rupchandra Humraskar, Roseline Bunyan and Chinmay Fallary spearheaded Goa’s campaign with impressive wins on Day Two of the Yonex-Sunrise 48th Indian Masters (Veteran) National Badminton Championships 2025-26.

Fallary grabbed attention in the Men’s Singles qualifiers, overcoming Kerala’s Jose Mathew in a tight three-game contest to secure a main draw berth. In the Women’s Singles 55 category, Moktali held her nerve to get past Aley Cherian of Tamil Nadu in a closely fought match.

Humraskar added to the hosts’ tally in Men’s Singles 60 with a composed win over Achumi Yekhuvi of Nagaland, while Bunyan progressed in the Women’s Singles 70 category. Kudchadkar, meanwhile, showcased his experience with a commanding victory against Maharashtra’s Damodar Thombre to enter the Men’s Singles 80 quarterfinals.

Among other results, top seeds maintained their momentum. Karnataka’s Rathan Nahar and Maharashtra’s Atul Kulkarni advanced in Men’s Singles 55, while Ram Lakhan (PNB) and Suresh Ayyappan (Maharashtra) moved ahead in the Men’s Singles 60 category.

The day also witnessed notable upsets, with Nandkishore Kulkarni of Karnataka defeating Rajasthan’s Harmeet Singh Anand, and Gujarat’s Dolatsing Dodiya eliminating eighth seed Lalrinkima R. In the 70+ category, Bihar’s Inderpal Verma stunned top seed Balbir Singh Jamwal of Jammu & Kashmir.
