Meghalaya, who had already qualified for the quarter-finals, ended their Group A campaign in the Swami Vivekananda U20 Men’s National Football Championship with a 7-0 victory against Bihar at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground on Monday.

The side from the north-east remained unbeaten to maintain their top spot with nine points in Group A. They are followed by Kerala with six, while Bihar and  Rajasthan have one each.

Meghalaya delivered a commanding performance, racing to a 4-0 lead within just 17 minutes. Ricky Kharkongor opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a one-on-one finish. RT Hanson Pdang made it two with a stunning free-kick in the 9th, Riborlang Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi added the third as he capitalised on a goalkeeping error, and Franky Dkhar smashed one in with his left foot in the 17th minute.

Riborlang struck again early in the second half with a brilliant shot from outside the box to score his second goal. Rimankhraw Kharumnuid converted a penalty confidently, and Pyrkhatshaphrang Sumer wrapped things up in stoppage time with a neat right-footed finish, sealing a dominant win for Meghalaya.
