Six-time Czech marathon champion Petra Pastorova will lead the 15th SKF Goa River Marathon at Chicalim on Sunday, December 14.

The 48-year-old holds a career-best 2:36:44 hours for the marathon and a recent best of 2:42:45 hours in 2025. Pastorova, who has completed 50 km at the 2023 Hyderabad Masters and 100 km at the 2024 Bengaluru Masters, said: “This is my first time in Goa and I am excited to run the SKF Goa River Marathon.”

A record 6,000 runners are expected, including 28 per cent women. The marathon carries the theme “Pace for Peace”.
International participants include athletes from Russia (11), Australia (11), USA (10), Israel (5), Germany (5), UK (5), Ireland (4), France (2), and Czech Republic (2).

Organisers will use AI-based photo selection and bib-plus-face detection to help runners identify their images. On-spot registrations remain open.
