Heramb’s fifer, Abhishek’s 57* guide them to 4-wicket win over Karimabad CC

Porvorim: Sunny Sports Club lifted the A Division North Zone 2025-26 title, defeating Karimabad Cricket Club by four wickets in the final at the GCA ground,  Porvorim on Wednesday.

Batting first, Karimabad were restricted to 154 all out in 40.2 overs. Aaditya Kota top-scored with 51 off 95 balls, supported by Vasu Tiwari (25) and Siddharth Karpe (25). Sunny’s left-arm spinner Heramb Shankar Parab was the chief destroyer, claiming 5/33 in 9 overs, while Nilkant Tampore (3/27) and Samarth Rane (1/23) contributed with the ball.

Chasing 155, Sunny reached 158/6 in 32.3 overs. Abhishek Pawar remained unbeaten on 57 off 75 balls, with support from Jeevan Chittem (41) and skipper Aryan Narvekar (25). Moh Huz (2*) helped guide the team home. For Karimabad, Anuj Yadav (3/33) and Atharva (2/34) were the only effective bowlers.

Sunny’s controlled innings and Parab’s five-wicket haul ensured a dominant title-winning performance. The final was witnessed by GCA officials, including Secretary Tulsidas Shetye and Vice-President Paresh Phadte.
