Ehtesham’s fifer powers their eight-wicket win over St Joseph

Margao: Shree Damodar Vidyalaya HS outclassed St Joseph HS, Mormugao by eight wickets to lift the South Zone title in the U-14 President’s Cup cricket tournament.

Batting first, St Joseph were bowled out for 124 in 24.3 overs, with Gandhik Satardekar top-scoring with 27. Aarav Kerkar added 16, but regular wickets stalled their progress.

Mohammad Ehtesham starred with the ball, returning figures of 5 for 12, including a hat-trick. He found support in Abhisek Lamani and Rumaan Mulam, who claimed two wickets apiece.

In reply, Damodar Vidyalaya chased down the target with ease, reaching 128 for two. Usman Ghani (30) and Abhiyan (15) laid a steady platform before Rumaan Mulam (39*) and Ehtesham (37*) guided the team home with an unbroken third-wicket stand.

Pranav picked up both wickets for St Joseph, but it was not enough to prevent Damodar Vidyalaya from sealing a comprehensive victory.
