Rahul, Kuldeep star in their 40-run victory over KKR

Kolkata: KL Rahul struck a fluent half-century while Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball as Delhi Capitals ended their IPL 2026 campaign with a commanding 40-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Asked to bat first, DC posted 203 for five, their highest total at the venue, with Rahul smashing 60 off just 30 balls. Axar Patel contributed 39 off 25 deliveries while David Miller provided the late flourish with a quickfire 28 off 19 balls as DC added 63 runs in the last five overs.

In reply, KKR were cruising at 128 for three, powered by skipper Ajinkya Rahane’s 63 off 39 balls and a brisk 29 from Rovman Powell. However, Kuldeep turned the match on its head with two wickets in successive deliveries, dismissing Rahane and Rinku Singh in the 13th over.

From there, KKR suffered a dramatic collapse, losing their last seven wickets for just 35 runs to be bowled out for 163 in 18.4 overs.

Ngidi finished with impressive figures of 3/27, while Kuldeep returned 3/29 after going wicketless in his previous three matches. The victory helped Delhi Capitals finish sixth in the points table, while KKR ended their season on a disappointing note.
