They win the open and the girl’s category respectively
Panaji: Joshua Telles and Tvisha Dessai emerged champions in the Goa U-13 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2026 held at Panaji.
Joshua Telles won the Open category with seven points from eight rounds, recording six wins and two draws, while Tvisha Dessai secured the Girls title with six points from seven rounds.
In the U-11, U-9 and U-7 Open categories, the prize winners were Naksh Sinari, Vivaan Kadam, Zayn Gonsalves, Narayan Desai, Aryan Naik, Kamesh Kavin, Arnav Dhote and Urmish Deuskar.
The prize winners in the U-11, U-9 and U-7 Girls categories were Yashasvi Walke, Jigyasa Gawas, Shreesha Ghadi, Sidonia Dacunha, Shanvi Redkar and Yeira Xavier.
The first two players in each category will represent Goa at the National Championship scheduled in September 2026.
