Elsewhere, Manguirish YC produced a polished all-round performance to defeat Bannerman Sports Club by seven wickets in a C Division South Zone fixture at the ODM GCA Ground in Sanguem on Tuesday.

Bannerman SC, opting to bat first, could only muster 132/9 in 28.5 overs. Nitin Panale top-scored with 38, while Mahant chipped in with 22 and Aaheesh Prabhugonkar added 16. Manguirish’s bowlers kept a tight grip throughout the innings, led by Akshay Naik’s impressive 3/26. Shivam Gaude (2/31) and Deepak Kumar (2/33) ensured regular setbacks for the batting side.

Chasing a modest target, Manguirish YC cruised to 136/3 in just 18.1 overs. Akshay Naik capped off a fine all-round outing with a fluent 50, supported by Mayur Prabhu’s steady 30 and Rajat Naik’s 20. Despite Panale’s 2/25, Bannerman SC struggled to contain the chase.

The convincing win underscored Manguirish YC’s dominance as they wrapped up the match with plenty to spare.
