Valpoi: Shri Bhumika HSS, Parye Sattari, clinched the State Athletics Championships in both the boys’ and girls’ categories at the Inter HS Athletics Meet organised by DSYA at Peddem.

The boys’ team made history by securing their maiden state title, while the girls defended their crown for the second consecutive year.

Star sprinter Rani Degvekar stole the show, bagging the Best Athlete (Girl) award with gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and long jump events. Angel Lopes matched her feat, winning three golds in the 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, and 400m run. In the boys’ division, Rohaan Khan dominated with a trio of golds in the 100m, long jump, and high jump, earning him the Best Athlete award.

Among other standout performances, Shetija Gawas claimed gold in the triple jump, while Saisha Gawas secured silver in the same event.

Anurag Gawas also contributed with a silver in the long jump. The boys’ 4x100m relay team, featuring Khan, Anurag Gawas, Kritesh Kharwat, and Eknath Hinde, sprinted to gold, while the girls’ relay squad—Degvekar, Lopes, Sherin Vargish, and Shetija Gawas—clinched silver in both the 4x100m and 4x400m events.
