The Education Department has said that several schools in Goa have not registered on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Portal, preventing students from applying for scholarships and availing of benefits.

“As a result, students are unable to apply for and avail benefits under various scholarship schemes made available through these platforms,” it stated, adding, “The lack of registration not only hampers the timely disbursal of scholarship assistance but also deprives eligible students of financial support meant to encourage their academic pursuits.”

“This is a matter of serious concern as it directly affects the welfare of students across the state,” director of education Shailesh Zingade said in a press release, directing all heads of institutions to ensure their schools are registered on both portals to access scholarships.

“Further, schools are directed to verify the applications received, so that no student is deprived of the scheme eligible to them,” he said.
