They launch the AIFF Blue Cubs League to nurture young talent
Pilar : Dempo Sports Club underlined its commitment to grassroots development with the recent inauguration of the AIFF Blue Cubs League for Under-10 and Under-12 boys at the Pilar Central School Ground.
A CSR initiative supported by Dempo Sports Club along with the Rotary Club of Panaji Mid-Town and Goa Carbon Ltd, the league aims to introduce young children to football through the AIFF Blue Cubs programme. Eight schools and two academies from Pilar and nearby areas are participating, with the format focused on regular match exposure and overall development.
Dempo’s Head of Youth Development, Mariano Dias, stressed the importance of early engagement. “This is the best way to get young talent into the game and help them progress to higher levels. Initiatives like this allow us to identify and develop players more effectively,” he said.
The inauguration was graced with the presence of by Goa Football Association president Caitano Fernandes, and officials of Dempo Sports Club, along with the club’s coaching and support staff and other dignitaries. The league commenced with Round 1 and Round 2 fixtures and will conclude on May 9, 2026.
