Panaji: Two-time champions Dempo Goa Challengers equalled the biggest winning margin in the five-match format with a commanding 12-3 victory over Dabang Delhi TTC in Ultimate Table Tennis Season 7 on Friday.
Dempo dominated throughout the tie as Alvaro Robles outclassed Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in straight games before Syndrela Das edged Divyanshi Bhowmick. Robles and Syndrela then combined to beat Sathiyan and Maria Xiao in the mixed doubles, handing the Delhi pair their second successive defeat.
Abhinandh PB maintained his unbeaten run with a straight-games win over Youssef Abdelaziz, while reigning MVP Bernadette Szocs wrapped up the tie by defeating Maria Xiao. Abhinandh was named the Match IQ Player of the Tie and Indian Player of the Tie, while Robles claimed the Foreign Player of the Tie award.
Earlier, in the UTT Juniors competition, Dabang Delhi TTC defeated PBG Pune Jaguars 6-3 to qualify for the semifinals, joining UP Prometheans, U Mumba TT and Dempo Goa Challengers.
