Panaji: Goa U-16 kept Chhattisgarh in check, reducing them to 212/9 in 90 overs on the opening day of their All India Under-16 JY Lele Invitational Two-Day Cricket Tournament match at Infipro Sports Academy Cricket Ground.
After opting to bat, Chhattisgarh were unable to build a substantial total as Goa struck at regular intervals. Aryan Agrawal top-scored with 43, while Anmol Raj Singh made 38, Shouvia Jaiswal 32 and Harsh Sahu 31.
Shaurya Chodankar led the Goa attack with 4/57, while Mrunal Naik took 2/28. Arnav Naik and Vedant Aigal claimed one wicket each.
Chhattisgarh were left with one wicket in hand at stumps, with Goa looking to finish the innings early on the second day before beginning their reply.
