Don Bosco College, Panjim triumph

Don Bosco College, Panjim, put on a stellar display in the Goa University Inter Collegiate Hockey Women’s Championship 2024-25, overwhelming St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, with a commanding 7-1 victory in the final at the Hockey Turf, Dayanand Bandodkar Krida Sankool, Peddem, Mapusa.

The final was a one-sided affair, with Don Bosco College displaying their attacking prowess from the outset. Their relentless offensive strategy left St. Xavier’s College struggling to contain the onslaught, as Don Bosco marched to the title in dominant fashion.

In the semifinals, St Xavier’s College secured their place in the final with a narrow 2-1 victory over DM’s College, Assagao, while Don Bosco College showcased their strength with a resounding 6-0 win against Rosary College, Navelim.

Among the standout performers was Don Bosco’s Pearl Almeida, who was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament for her commanding presence on the field.

The winners team included: Chaitali Gawas, Shaina Almeida, Rhea Pires, Juella Fernandes, Diksha Chawdhari, Prajakta Gaonkar, Nikita Naik, Blessica Rodrigues, Sushmita Jadhav, Aaroshi Govekar, Kunika Harmalkar, Rashi Halarnakar, Yukta Mahato, Anoshka Dsouza, Alpita Harishchandra Khedekar, Pearl Ruby De Almeida, Riddhi  Rohidas Priolkar, Kalpita Velkaskar.
