Margao : MCC Royals sail past MCC Thunder by 8 runs in the MCL 11 T20 tournament on Sunday.

Batting first, MCC Royals put up 167 for six in their 20 overs, with contributions from Abhishek (35), Samrudh (30) and Aditya Prabhugaonkar (33*). The Thunder bowlers kept things tight, with Om Fadte (1/18), Dr Rohan Badve (1/22), Ved Mahambre (1/26) and picking up a wicket each.

In reply, MCC Thunder stayed in the hunt through knocks from Om Fadte (37), Roshan Naik (36) and Ved Mahambre (28), but disciplined bowling at the death restricted them to 159 for eight. Aditya Prabhugaonkar (2/27) and Venkat Biche (2/6) led the Royals’ effort with the ball.

In another match, MCC Masters beat MCC Avengers by 10 runs.

Masters were dismissed for 174 in 19.5 ov after Vikrant (38), Siddhesh and Alvencar (31) steadied the innings. Siddhant Amonkar (2/26) and Gopal Gawas (2/34) led the Avengers’ bowling effort.

Chasing 175, Avengers closed on 164 for nine, with Vedant Naik (40) and Sachin Datta Bhandare (35) offering resistance. Vikrant Prabhu’s spell of 2/23 proved decisive, earning him the MOTM award.
