Sesa FA win GFA U16 girls title

Sesa Football Academy dismantled Portais Sporting Club 7-0 to clinch the GFA U-16 Girls League title at Sirsaim on Friday.

Keren D’Souza starred with a brace, while team captain Asma Bandodkar, Skye Fernandes, Shanaica Gonsalves, Analee D’Costa and Leticia Monteiro netted a goal each in a dominant display in the final.

Skipper Asma Bandodkar opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Skye Fernandes doubled the lead in the 22nd minute. Goalkeeper Shanaica Gonsalves then converted from the penalty spot in the 39th minute to extend the advantage further giving them a 3-0 lead cushion.

After the interval, Analee D’Costa added the fourth goal in the 42nd minute, followed by Keren D’Souza in the 46th minute. Leticia Monteiro made it 6-0 in the 54th minute before Keren completed her brace in added time to complete the emphatic victory.

Sesa Football Academy completed the tournament unbeaten, finishing with 15 points without conceding a single goal across the league. The team played seven matches, including the semifinal and final.

In the semifinal, Sesa defeated SC De Rumdamol 18-0, while Portais Sporting Club edged past Rosa Sports and Cultural Club 4-3 via a tiebreaker to reach the final.
