The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Goa University Students Council met Goa University officials on Tuesday, and urged relaxation in backlog policy for students thus ensuring fair and student-friendly implementation of the National Education Policy 2025.

The students representing the two bodies met the Vice Chancellor, Harilal Menon and the Registrar, Sunder Dhuri and requested them relaxation for students with pending backlogs, thus allowing them to progress to the third year.

The delegation also stressed upon the requirement for student-friendly implementation of the NEP, citing the unique challenges faced by the first few batches under the new system.

It further appealed to the university authorities to grant academic flexibility for the current year, especially for those students still adjusting to the policy changes.

“ABVP Goa remains committed to ensuring quality education that is fair, inclusive, and supportive of student growth,” the ABVP representatives stated.

They also pledged to organise NEP orientation programs across the state to help students better understand the curriculum, structure, and expectations under the new framework.

The ABVP representatives maintained that the request now lies with the university administration, and ABVP has assured continued efforts to advocate for policies that balance academic standards with student welfare.
