The Directorate of Education (DoE) has asked all assistant district educational inspectors (ADEIs) and heads of government primary schools in the state to expedite the process of verification and disbursement of funds for raincoats and school uniforms by July 15.

In a circular issued on Tuesday, DoE said that it has initiated the process for disbursement of financial assistance under Goa Mukhyamantri Shiksha Suvidha Yojana through the Aadhaar-Based Payment System, ensuring direct benefit transfer to eligible beneficiaries before the start of monsoon.

It said that an amount of Rs 90.2 lakh has been released by the state government to the bank accounts operated by the ADEIs of all 12 talukas for onward transfer to eligible students. An assistance of Rs 500 shall be disbursed towards the purchase of raincoat
for each student of class I and III studying in government primary schools. Similarly, Rs 600 shall be disbursed towards purchase of school uniform. Thus, a total amount of
Rs 1,100 per student shall be credited for approximately 8,200 beneficiaries.

“All ADEIs and heads of government primary schools are hereby directed to expedite the process of verification and disbursement of funds and ensure completion of the same on or before July 15,” the circular issued by DoE Shailesh Zingde said.

It also said that parents or guardians of eligible students shall coordinate with the respective schools and ensure submission of Aadhaar-linked bank account details.
