Panaji: Vidarbha were declared winners on first-innings lead after their All-India Under-16 J Y Lele Invitational Cricket Tournament match against Goa ended in a draw at the Infipro Sports Academy Ground in Baroda.
Goa were bowled out for 108 in their first innings, before Vidarbha reached 4 for 177 by the close of the opening day to take a 69-run lead. Vidarbha eventually lost all their wickets for 233 in 62.2 overs, extending their lead to 125 runs.
Mrunal Naik was the pick of Goa’s bowlers with 4/65, while Shaurya Chodankar claimed 3/65. Vedant Aigal took two wickets and Harsh Nain one.
In reply, Goa finished on 108 for seven in 64 overs. Ishant Tivarekar top-scored with 30, while captain Abhijay Kalangutkar made 26. Vishram Parab scored 13 and Nanthan Sawant made three.
Tanisk Naik remained unbeaten on 13 off 56 balls and Vedant Aigal was not out on six off 48 balls as Goa managed to avoid being bowled out within the stipulated overs, leaving Vidarbha unable to force a win in the second innings.
For Vidarbha, Khilesh Wankhede took 3/28, Devansh Bhoyar 2/16, while Jasdeep Singh and Shaurya Jain claimed one wicket each.
