Priority Titans and Prescon Panthers launched their campaigns with commanding victories in the 4th Panjim Gymkhana Members League (PGML 4.0) at Panjim.

The Titans outclassed defending champions Manas Mavericks with a solid 24-run win in the season opener.

Later, Prescon Panthers cruised to a dominant 7-wicket victory over Desserts N’More Avengers in the day’s second encounter.

Opting to bat, the Titans showcased depth in their lineup. Sachin Sardessai (37) and Vedant Naik (35) anchored the innings, while Ojas (27), Sameer Chodankar (24), and all-rounder Mukhtar Kadri (16) provided crucial contributions, setting a competitive 174/7.

The Mavericks faltered in their chase, restricted to 150/9, despite a brisk 38 off 20 balls from Gourav Desai. Kadri delivered with the ball as well, claiming 2/23 to clinch the Player of the Match honors.

In the second fixture, Desserts N’More Avengers collapsed for a modest 88 in 16.1 overs after choosing to bat first. Sairaj Dhond (30) and Pranav Biche (23) offered resistance, but Prescon Panthers’ Aditya Angle wreaked havoc with a stunning 4/14 spell, earning him the Player of the Match award and a special cash prize.

The Panthers eased to 89/3 in 14.1 overs, with Vivek Karapurkar’s unbeaten 33 leading the charge. Manish Kakode contributed 14 not out, while Angle capped off his stellar performance with 17 runs.

Earlier, Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Naik declared the tournament open in the presence of Panjim Gymkhana President Manoj Caculo, team owners, and sponsors.
